We used it widely in the former Cleveland on Acorn computers, but the
strength of it was that it could be used on any computer that had a
talking wordprocessor - some of our SENCos were very creative in the way
they provided 1:1 support, both in lower secondary and primary schools

There is nothing to load!! You just need a word processor which provides
speech feedback eg Textease, and set it to say words and sentences.

The CD which comes with the materials just contains the instructions of
how
to deliver the programme. The essential part is the pack of cards
containing
the graded sentences, which the pupil will type onto the word processor,
gaining speech feedback to help them correct any errors - or to feel
good if
it says what they hoped it would say!

We have been evaluating it in a selection of Hampshire schools of late,
with
excellent progress being shown by a wide range of pupils (well over the
aspirational 'double the normal rate of progress' expected of Wave 3
interventions.
