Hi Ally I think many English departments use their own schemes of work - we certainly do. As well as the National Curriculum there is also the Literacy Strategy to look at. Plus the Key Stage 3 Assessment for Learning and Behaviour and Attendence strands. There are no list of book which must be studied in Years 7, 8 or 9. There's a list of suggested authors to study during Key Stage 3 and we have to teach Shakespeare, poetry, fiction, poetry, drama texts and non-fiction. As far as I know, what you do when is up to the individual school. Maybe it's there and I'm just missing it or does such a thing not exist? All I can find are the teaching objectives but with no further details as to specifics. http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/schemes3/subjects/?view=get Also if anyone has a list of recommended English set texts for year 7 2006-7, that would also be most helpful. Thank you very much in advance. Best wishes, Aly Chair Auditory Processing Disorder in the UK/APDUK www.lacewingmultimedia.com/APD.htm www.apduk.org Amanda Secondary SENCO Cornwall |
