I guess if you had video but no sound then what could you be
accused of? Very little and it would be her word against
yours.

I once worked in a school with extensive external CCTV
coverage. When there were incidents of staff having cars
vandalised the SLT refused to allow access to the CCTV
footage on 'confidentiality grounds'. I bet there would have
been no problem if it was a child's parents asking for CCTV 
footage for evidence against a teacher.

If you do go down this route get your union involved in
supporting the school to write a very tight CCTV policy
which provides equal protection for staff and pupils.
