Article: [senco-forum] ASD and exclusion

Hi Gaynor,

Again at the risk fo stating the obvouis, are there any perceiovable
triggers to these outbursts? Same class, topic or teacher? When frustrated at the
work? Not having understood what he has to do? Might a fulltime one to one aide
help- the same one all the time for continuity- supposing that the support
you mention isn't already in the form of a one to one aide, or could it be
that thuis is withdrawal from class which upsets his routine?

Transition to a new school is always difficult for children with SEN but
those with ASD, as you know, rely on routine. Could it be that changing to adapt
from one lesson to the next to conform with different teachers' routines is
hard for him to understand?

Best wishes,
Aly
