Google DFES Personalised Learning and stand back! 843,000 hits! Start at www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/personalisedlearning/ but do not forget to go to all the others Innovations Unit for best practice QCA for core requirements OECD for projects being done for IU TeacherNet so you can feed back how you feel about PL...... PL opening statement is that it is not a new policy but 'the drawing together of best practice' to enable every student to learn in the way that they best learn. Great principles - no additional cash! Emphasis is on Assessment for Learning i.e. knowing where the child is and where they need to get to and advocates lots of Professional development training, peer support & feedback, visiting schools that operate best practice, getting shiny certificates for compliance and oh! did I mention that there are children that someone has to teach? Sharon Tringham As a theory it is great - can't wait to see it in practice. It should mean that children with SEN get all the support they need done by newly trained specialist teachers having watched all that best practise for SEN. I fear it will give license for those students who can to zoom ahead in the curriculum and those who can't to be left behind. It won't matter as the school will have beautifully documented that this is the child's chosen pace and style of working, and that will be that. -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
