|
Dear SENCO's, I am currently a student at the IOE studying for my PGCE. As part of my studies I have been working on a SEN project for the past 7 months code named "MySencare" focusing on SEN Information management within schools. In a nut shell as a beginning teacher I have seen the problems first hand SENCO's face and the knock on effects this has on subject teachers and most importantly how the learning needs of students are met within the classroom. My research has been investigating Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences in developing processes using ICT that will significantly make the life of a SENCO easier. Secondly my research explores how SEN information about pupils can be used effectively in classrooms by subject teachers. Sometimes I feel there is too much data (stats) and not enough information that is useful for the teachers to meet the diverse learning needs of SEN pupils. If it is possible could you please take part in my survey. There are only 7 questions and it would be really useful to get your insight and thoughts. 1. How long does it take you to write a single IEP? 2. What problems do you face on a daily basis? 3. What takes most of your time? 4. Do you have information that is readily accessible that tells you which students are meeting targets? which are not? and what strategies for students and teachers have been set? 5. Does your school use any software to manage sen information apart from SIMMS? 6. If yes to question 5, do you find the software easy to use and efficient? 5. Does your school use word documents / proforma templates and shared networks to share SEN information to subject teachers? 7. Would you be interested in piloting a new way of working for your school if it was to significantly save you time? Thank you in advance for your help. Best Wishes Naimish naimishgohil at gmail.com |
