I know teachers and psychologists like the label "Specific Learning Difficulties", but I have never heard a teenager or adult say "I have specific learning difficulties" it just isn't used. My daughter prefers not to talk about her dyslexia, its less hassle; she has friends who are more severe and knows she is different from them so doesn't make a thing of it. Some teachers have worked out that she has dyslexic difficulties and she will tell some of them on a one-to-one basis where she needs more support. Colin SEN M |
