Article: [senco-forum] Re: would this wording put you off. Brian/Tim

" June (parent of child who has been remarkably
non-special-needs over the summer but will be right
back into his niche by the start of term)."

I suspect that is because, like many other children,
at home he is allowed to be himself, learn on his own
terms as he needs to learn and isn't disabled by the
intolerance of others to his needs.

My son is the same - he was disabled by a totally
inappropriate school environment. Removing that has
enabled him to learn, thrive on learning and be happy.
He is not disabled, he is not faulty, it is the way
schools teach that made him appear that way and now,
out of that damaging scenario, his difficulties are
not difficult any more, but easily managed.

Brian, a rose by any other name etc- but LAs and LEAs
and the UK education system, even apart from any SEN
considerations, simply stinks and is becoming
increasigly unfit for purpose. Perhaps it is time for
those that can do so to fight it from the inside,
rather than leave it all to the parents...

Best wishes,
Aly
