Article: [senco-forum] parents info

I used to be a school governor...............you should tell your's that if
she did the leaflet herself it may teach her something about SEN - my
experience was that they knew nothing which I found frustrating because it wasn't
'ethical' for me to be SEN governor as my son has SEN.

My humble opinion - many governors think its sounds good to be one but
cannot be bothered to put any work into it! The school I was involved with had an
Ofsted - I think my file, flagged to relevant parts which could be
questioned, put the inspector 'off' because all he talked about was the outside
playarea canopy I had singlehandley secured the funding for (£10k).............it
gave me quite a buzz and was reward enough for the hours of work.

Go on, call her bluff - its too easy to put more work on to teachers!

Good luck - sorry cannot help with examples - a mere parent...........
