Diana We had a one day - full section 5 inspection last Thursday. Again, as SENCo I was expecting to be talking / meeting with inspectors at some point. However it was apparent this was not going to be the case 2 days before. Your Head will know their program, interviews which lessons they will watch etc. already, if ours was anything to go by. I then put together a 'pack' of policy, provision map IEPs information training etc - everything of interest over last 2 years and created a CD with electronic reports on research projects and LA projects I've been involved in etc. and thrust it into the lead inspectors hand first thing on the day. They were quite taken aback but thanked me for providing it for them. Didn't see them for the rest of the day, so was pleased I did. They did 3 out of 5 lessons observing, 2 lessons had half-hour observations the other was for 6 minute drop-ins, which didn't have feedback. We cane out as good with some outstanding features, pretty much what our SEF said and in line with our own evaluation. Hope that is of some use, apparently we get a 2 page report next week. Quite a 'let-down' compared to the old model of inspection - but much more realistic and cost-effective, I think!!!
