I am never quite sure just what is the same/different in England and in Wales, where I am, but are governors meant to ask you to do things like that? Ours never did, in the schools I was in and they never do that in the school where my husband is a governor. Sometimes, new governors take a while to get used to the fact that, as individual governors, they have no power at all; any power resides in the Governing Body as an entity. Both my husband and I have experienced several people who have been full of what they were going to get teachers and schools to do; they eventually learned exactly what was possible and what was not!
