To rule out visual difficulties I would suggest a
regular eye test. To rule out Irlen/scotopic
sensitivity or visual processing or perceptual
difficulties I would suggest a visit to a behavioural
optometrist. A normal hearing test wouldn't go amiss
either, before (but not instead of) APD testing... as
chilsren ca have APD and hearig loss( and visual
problems and visual processing problems).

All of the above really! Dyslexia screening programmes
only tell you the child cannot read or spell and you
need to know why and to ascertain and focus on the
child's strengths to aid them.
