I have used this test and got a similar result to yourself, with a child who was able in all other subjects. However, this child had put a lot of effort in to learning maths and learning things by rote with little understanding. My judgment at the time was that this meant that the test would not pick up her underlying problems. I typed up a short description of the situation to her transition school, along with the dyscalculia results and they acted on it accordingly. As with all tests, I think it's a good idea to put it in context, wherever possible. Hope that helps. Adam |
