[SENco-forum] Re APD indicators and other info - and Testing-URGENT

While it is clearly wrong to treat someone from outside you area of training
it is possible to be able to detect other problems than the ones you are
trained to diagnose.

For example when a friend took her son for an eye test the optometrist told
her she suspected a significant level of hearing loss.  It was an eye
opener- but she was right.  The doctor found 60% of hearing loss and more
bizarrely still this was found to be caused by a sensitivity to apples.

This was confusing for the parent as her son rarely ate apples, but
unbeknownst to her he was drinking gallons of apple juice (and eating
apples) at my house just because I kept both in the fridge.

No apples and he lost his asthmatic cough and his hearing returned!
