The DfES are holding a series of workshops for SMT members of schools,

Workshops for primary schools, special schools and pupil referral units

3. New theme on the Inclusion site's Ask the Experts area - Engaging
learners

Engaging learners

The new theme on the Inclusion site's Ask the Experts area is 'Engaging
learners'. It has long been accepted that, to learn, learners must be
engaged, well motivated and active participants in their own learning.
But how can we achieve this for all learners? How can we re-engage
disaffected learners? If you would like ideas or advice on this topic,
ask the experts: Becky Durston (Head of Integrated Support for
South-west Essex), Heather Frost (Centre Manager of the Learning Zone at
The National Ice Centre in Nottingham), and Mary Hrekow (Educational
Consultant - Special Educational Needs).

Find out what they advise, or ask your own question, on the Inclusion
site [http://inclusion.ngfl.gov.uk].
