Article: [senco-forum] motivating programmes in literacy and maths for a fifteen year-ld

I've just been asked by the parents of a fifteen year old in his GCSE year about fun programmes in the areas of reading comprehension, spelling and maths. Teachers are apparently predicting a D grade in English and Maths - ie the boy has been left to teeter along with poor attention and motivation - and consequently below average achievement. His school is working on revision activities, and the parents want at this eleventh hour additionally to motivate him to a greater attention to exam questions in English Language and Maths - but through games-type activities in these two curriculum areas.

Do Forum members have any suggestions to the parents for relevant games programmes they could buy for the boy to use on his computer?

(This is an older age group than I'm used to working with !).
