Language and Communication Impairment in Children (LACIC) - Certificate, Diploma, MSc by Distance Learning Obtain further qualifications without having to leave your post or obtain secondment Are you or your colleagues interested in extending your knowledge and skills of children with special educational needs by increasing your understanding of a wide range of language and communication difficulties? Our courses range from one to three years and consist of foundation, intermediate and specialist modules which include topics on specific language impairment, autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, speech difficulties, dyspraxia, attention deficit disorders, challenging behaviour, social disadvantage, bilingualism, dyslexia. The modules have been developed by experts in the field and aim to relate theory to practice through self-directed study, reading, activities and assignments. In addition to face to face contact at three residential study weekends held each year in Sheffield, course delivery is through WebCT. This is a unique internet-based learning environment accessed only by students registered on the course. Inclusive Technology Information Days Inclusive Technology is proud to announce their Information Day programme for Spring and Summer 2007. With a theme of 'The Inclusive Classroom', these practice focused CPD days will explore how ICT and assistive technology can be meaningfully embedded into the wider school curriculum. Led by Information Director Roger Bates and supported by former ICT in Practice Award winner Ian Bean together with assistive technology specialist Fil McIntyre these days will share examples of good practice from around the world, exemplifying many of the ideas presented in our soon to be released Inclusive Assistive Technology Resource Guide.
