Try Googling "Quick Scan" a 10-15 minute screener that defines learning styles & flags up likely SpLD (on an A4 size report) and recommends a further 2 hours of screening. This yields a 5 page report. West Kent College, Tonbridge uses it as part of their 26 tutor strong learning support department. It picks up around 16 % of students as having difficulties. The college has a large vocationally based sector as well as GCSE retakes, A levels, Foundation & full degrees attracting mature as well as more usual 16+ learners. I know about LADS. I am on the point of suggesting that our sixth form bods screen everyone who comes in from outside so that we can see what's going on and I don't get inundated with requests for assessments. Cheers Many thanks JaniceJanice WraySecondary SENCO, Herts _________________________________________________________________ Be one of the first to try Windows Live Mail. http://ideas.live.com/programpage.aspx?versionId=5d21c51a-b161-4314-9b0e-491 1fb2b2e6d -- No virus found in this incoming message.
