Looking at Gardner's list of 8 learning styles the 'naturalist' idea is often overlooked at school (as are those who require 'quiet or alone time' to process new ideas), but it is the same problem - for as many who excel in any one area there are some who will not and may then exhibit poor behaviour. Moderation in everything including moderation ( in its other sense). Perhaps we would be better rotating KS1 & KS2 much of the time so they get to spend time with teachers who's passion is music, or storytelling or bio or zoology rather than expect teachers to be all singing and dancing to fit one NC shaped mould. As for cognitive visual, auditory & Kinaesthetic learners it is notable that 80% of excluded children are often in the kinaesthetic category (regardless of SEN issues). We need to take account of cognitive (VAK), and learning styles to get the best from pupils and teachers. Sharon Tringham -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
