"While it is true that one hemisphere dominates over the other in terms of our experience of the world and our actions, both sides of the brain work together in almost all situations, tasks and processes." This is a very important point, because one apsect that can severely affect learing adversely is the ability to cross the midline of the brain allowing both sides to work together. This, in my opinion, is why the brains of some people show activity in areas not usually used for some tasks because it is their brain's naturally adapted way of coping when this ability is hampered.
