personally I wouldn't. This is a life long condition taht will affect every
aspect of her life and needs careful handling.

With all the pupils we have with autism the child psychologist involved in
the case has done extensive work with both the parents and the child to
ensure they were all properly informed, questions answered and support given
over several weeks and months.

Has anyone had to tell a child they are autistic?

We have a year 7 girl with a Statement for autism. Her parents wish her to
know this. She was diagnosed years ago but only in recent months have her
parents felt she was ready to be told and as they don't know how to go about
it they have asked me to help. They want me to tell her!

Any advice gratefully received.
