Hi Maggie One of the problems with, I guess any voice activated software, is that you effectively 'train' it to recognise your voice and what you are saying. Once this is done, then it works well, but it can be VERY frustrating during this 'training' process. I remember that I was doing a project a few years ago with it, and I started during the Spring and just about got it sorted. Then Summer came as did my Hay Fever..... my sini were blocked like a cold and it recognised about 1 in 3 of my commands. :) To be fair I haven't used the most recent version so it may well have improved. Are you using a headset or a microphone? We thought of trying Dragon software for a bright Y7 child who cannot read (yet - but we're working on it...). The biggest hurdles seem to be the 'training' passages, which have to be read - which he can't do, and a strong local accent. Is it worth persisting with? Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
