[senco-forum] is disapplication still needed?

My SLT has decided that 'litereacy' will be taught to a selected group of
Year 7 pupils instead of MFL.  Surely to do this they must be disapplied
from the NC?  My understanding of this a few years ago was that
disapplication could be made for only two periods of six months in a child's
school career, is my recolection right?  If disapplication needs to be made
how would one go about it?

I await your scholarly advice.
