[senco-forum] Inclusion manager

I came into work this morning on a real high for the first time in ages. That was until I saw the advert for the Inclusion Manager that school had placed on the noticeboard and in the local press. I have been pushing for years for an Inclusion Unit, but hey, I'm only the SENCo, why should anyone have the decency to tell me that we're getting one and that we are employing a manager to run it? Oh, and that a large proportion of what I do on a daily basis is being taken over by this new role and that I am to have no input at all. Do I feel threatened? Yes!! Especially as they have also taken my responsibility for assessments of special exam arrangements and given that to someone else as well. I am having a conversation with the Head later to try to ascertain how she sees my role in school now if she feels I still have a role that is.
Do they think I'm over worked? Maybe, but then why give me a tutorial in September?
Sorry, I know I'm probably being irrational, but I need to vent my spleen.
