I totally agree with everything Amanda said. Don't take it laying down.

Good Luck

Hello Julie
I don't think you are being irrational at all. If this happened to
me, I would be throwing my toys out of the pram!!

Do you have a line manager? Is s/he any use? I'd see the Head with
another adult I trust and, in my case, it would be my line manager. I
certainly would not see the Head on my own. I'd take in my job
description and ask for an indication of what I was supposed to do next
year.
I would also talk to my Governor for SEN to say that I was sure that
the governors were aware of this division of the SEN role and I wanted
to explain what I thought my new role was.

Let me know how it all goes. I think it sounds like a nightmare for
you.

I came into work this morning on a real high for the first time in
ages. That was until I saw the advert for the Inclusion Manager that
school had placed on the noticeboard and in the local press. I have been
pushing for years for an Inclusion Unit, but hey, I'm only the SENCo,
why should anyone have the decency to tell me that we're getting one and
that we are employing a manager to run it? Oh, and that a large
proportion of what I do on a daily basis is being taken over by this new
role and that I am to have no input at all. Do I feel threatened? Yes!!
Especially as they have also taken my responsibility for assessments of
special exam arrangements and given that to someone else as well. I am
having a conversation with the Head later to try to ascertain how she
sees my role in school now if she feels I still have a role that is.
Do they think I'm over worked? Maybe, but then why give me a tutorial in
September?
Sorry, I know I'm probably being irrational, but I need to vent my
spleen.
