I'd strongly advise against using WD40 - or any other oil - on a laptop 
screen as it may attack the plastic and may leave smears. Best bet is 
the alcohol used for cleaning tape recorder heads etc.

As for fishing rod ferrules - a bit of wax rubbed on beforehand will 
stop them sticking, the nearest source being to stick your finger in 
your ear.  Hmmm, sunny Friday, half term, hmmm, Llyn Idwal beckons....
