I don't know whether it would work, either, but I heard an eye consultant speaking on a Radio 4 medical programme about a year ago, discussing laser treatment for eye problems, especially short-sightedness. When asked by the presenter if he would undergo laser treatment himself, his reply was that he would trust only one surgeon, who worked in Belfast,to perform it properly.
