Article: [senco-forum] Maths Frameworking by Collins[Scanned]

As a maths teacher (Previoulsy a HoD) and SENCO something close to my heart!!!

As a new school we looked at all the resources, but wanted the lower sets to feel as if they are usig the same as the higher sets - we therefore purchased Maths Framework by Oxford. It comes in Extension, Core, support and Access for each year group. and a big pack called basics. Each level has student book and teacehrs guide and homework book. Also a CD rom for each year.

We find it works as the page numbers are the same so you can use 2 tier within a class setting.

Maths Framworking is a similar concept.

I would go with what ever the main school are using if you are teaching groups at the same time, or something to complemnt if in addition to the core teaching.

To supplement this I have also got for Enhancement groups Hodder Maths and assocated files. At my previous school I used Green Orbit, but no longer available.

Hope this helps

Hi

Our maths Co-ordinator in school has suggested that i buy the above for the less able pupils in year 7 and year 8. Has anyone got experience of using this or know any school who currently uses it?
Would anyone recommend this or have suggestions of another scheme. I have about £750 to spend in total.
Thanks
Audrey
