A friend of mine has a child with ADHD and gets carers allowance. She also gets Disability Living Allowance for him. Took awhile to get both. You have to be looking after the child for at least 35 hours per week. You can work as many hours as you like BUT you can't earn more than £87 per week. Certain jobs can access allowances such as claiming for chid care, (although there are some caveates here) You need to have a letter from your Ed Psych, An easy route would be to go to the local Citizn Advice Bureau as they would fill out the relevant forms for you and advise appropriately.
