Article: [senco-forum] Carers Allowance

A friend of mine has a child with ADHD and gets carers allowance. She also
gets Disability Living Allowance for him.

Took awhile to get both.
You have to be looking after the child for at least 35 hours per week.
You can work as many hours as you like BUT you can't earn more than £87 per
week.

Certain jobs can access allowances such as claiming for chid care, (although
there are some caveates here)

You need to have a letter from your Ed Psych,
An easy route would be to go to the local Citizn Advice Bureau as they would
fill out the relevant forms for you and advise appropriately.

Good luck!

Subject: [senco-forum] Carers Allowance

I have been asked by the parent of a child with severe ADHD if they
qualifeid for the carers allowance and I seem top remember that someone on
the forum made a relevant contribution on this subject some time ago. Has
anyone the relevant knowledge please?
