Going to look at Kurzweil - But have a look at TextHelp Gold - The Scottish system is putting some of its exams on CDs and hence will be using PDF read aloud - they have trialed it and it looks good - Cut down on the readers and use them for scribes - Or get the pupils to use laptops! Stuart -----Original Message----- From: senco-forum-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk [mailto:senco-forum-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk] On Behalf Of Amanda Sent: 06 June 2007 17:23 To: senco-forum Subject: [senco-forum] Using computers to scribe for GCSE Hello Has anyone any experience of using computer software to scribe for GCSE exams or to read for GCSE exams? We will be in a position next year when I need more readers and scribes than I have TAs to do the job. We have real trouble finding paid invigilators so we can't find more to read and scribe. I do understand that you can share readers but you can't share scribes. So - have you used computer software to scribe and / or read for candidates? Is is practical? What software do you use? What hardware do you need? Amanda Seconary SENCO Cornwall Amanda Secondary SENCO Cornwall |
