I have 6 TAs- none of whom have formal HLTA status , although one is an ex-teacher, one is going thru the quick route to status - the others are either leading TAs ( The Borough has observed them teach and are used as exemplars or are in the process of doing a Foundation Degree or our LT has observed them and agree that they have the knowledge and skills to take a class one session a week).
