Article: [senco-forum] Assessing need for extra time at GCSE for a pupil with just dyscalculia

Has anyone managed to show a need for extra time for just maths for a pupil
with dyscalculia? I have a pupil coming up to Year 10 next year, whose
primary school informally identified dyscalculia. We can confirmt she is
terrified of maths and number, but functions well elsewhere. CAT
Quantitative in Year 7 was 83, with verbal and non verbal at 100 and 96
respectively, which would support a maths specific difficulty. I haven't
started assessing her yet - don't want to raise hopes and then not be able
to provide anything. She had no AA at KS3 as did not meet criteria.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Sharon
