Article: [senco-forum] Statement Question

Hi Sue
As you can appreciate, this often happens in Cornwall.
The Local Authority has to agree to the Statement continuing. They usually do. In Cornwall, it is up to the parents to approach the LA.

  Hi all,

I'm a special needs teacher looking for advice on behalf of a friend.

They have a son who had a statement issued by one London borough, they have
been out of the country for 2 years and are planning to return to London but
to a different borough.

So does the statement still stand as it is or will the parents have to start
the whole assessment process again with the new borough?

Any help appreciated,

Sue keavy
