Article: [senco-forum] Statement Question

Um, not always (in my experience), if the child has been out of the system
for more than 6 months.

In Essex, the LEA honours the statemet and then asks the school to hold an
Annual Review at which point they gradualy get round to adopting it
themselves and re writing into the LEA form.

Subject: [senco-forum] Statement Question

Hi all,

I'm a special needs teacher looking for advice on behalf of a friend.

They have a son who had a statement issued by one London borough, they have
been out of the country for 2 years and are planning to return to London but
to a different borough.

So does the statement still stand as it is or will the parents have to start
the whole assessment process again with the new borough?

Any help appreciated,

Sue keavy
