Article: [senco-forum] Exit cards

Hi Janice,

Just some thoughts. How about allowing the youngsters to only have x
number of cards which they can use and talking through how they might
manage their use, what would they do at a point when they got down to
the last card etc? Also, is it worth considering what is happening when
they are not using them? What is different about these situations?
What is the child doing that is different? What skills are they using
in these situations so that they don't need to use their cards?

Regards

Subject: [senco-forum] Exit cards

I have 2 pupils in Year 9 for whom an EXIT card has been a real boon.
They are using them 3 or 4 times a week I think -and I wondered if
anyone else out there uses a similar thing and how often do pupils use
them - they are to stop them getting too angry in lessons and causing a
storm. One is a boy and the other a girl. I don't think 3 or 4 times a
week is abusing the system - others may disagree. It's always the same
lessons and the same teachers and the pupils find my or their Head of
House and work quietly at the back of the room - or in my case,
sometimes help younger pupils with their work.
Anyway, similar experiences gladly received.
Cheers
