Firstly, many thnks to everyone who copied me in to their advice on social stories. We are in the process of recruitin g for the above post. I feel I have the opportunity to influence how we use this preson if I am proactive with ideas, so am hopibng some of you will have some suggestions.... The person we are appointing has fair amoun t of SEN experience - specifically ASD, and part of her time willbe supporting a specific child. There are also a couple of other childrenwho may benefit from 1: 1 support, plus she will be helping a bit in a couple of PPA sessions, plus lunchtimes - perhaps setting up clubs as alternative to the rough and tumble of the great outdoors, and a speech and language / social skills group. More than a TA, we want her to be proactive in developing positive behaviour across school... am worried as sounds vague, don't wan t her to become just another "body" or the behaviour police.... So if anyone has a similar person, what sort of things do they do? I will be supporting her, so she will actually have some power to affect change. Sorry about tupos as have broken finger!
