We have a child who did this at the start of Year 4 (I think), and now has gorgeous cursive handwriting ... but at a rate half the average for her age. Mrs Heather 01159723046 122, Derby Road, Long Eaton,, Nottingham., Nottinghamshire, NG10 4LS She is able to work with young people to help them adapt their handwriting to a style which is more natural to them. A day spent with her improves handwriting speed and legibility dramatically. Including male teenagers who have found self esteem and behaviour also improves dramatically as a result. Unfortunately, she has a year long waiting list for individual students, but she may be able to offer some advice. Alternatively, try a Google on the concept of dysgraphia. I have looked at their writing and it is legible - only just! Our examinations officer claims that they are not entitled to any extra time as they have not received any extra time in previous exams.
