Article: [senco-forum] KS3 SATS - scribes for English

Hi Richard

KS3 SATs says a pupil with a statement can have any arrangements you like as long as it is their usual way of working and as long as you don't read the reading or the Shakespeare paper to them. This includes a scribe. We use it as an opportunity to begin teaching them to dictate under exam conditions, including punctuation.

Hi folks

Can anyone confirm that a pupil (statemented)can have a scribe in the
forthcoming English SATS?

If they can, do they need access arrangements applying for or is it at the
disgression of the school?

Wouldn't normally ask but I don't have easy access to the requoisite booklet
etc.
