BTW -- sorry Amanda -- I now notice that you state the an EP made the 'referal'. So perhaps it did go thriugh a CAMHS. But it does seem strange that the school was not consulted -- I agree with you. This is likely to be an LA strategy of trying to keep the numbers of ADHD's down for budgetry reasons. The EP should be questioned as to his/her qualification to diagnose a medical disorder -- and also for parent to request a GP referral to the local CAMHS -- if the childs behaviour continues to be a matter of significant concern. We were told that a pupil with diagnosed ADHD did not have ASD as a result of a completed parental checklist. The referral was made by our Ed Psych. We were not asked to complete a checklist.
