[senco-forum] Advice needed urgently. Statemented pupil placementat our school.

In our area, schools do have to agree to go one or two over the limit for
students with statements. I have found that if you immediately get in touch
with the local authority by phone and try to get some central funding and
advice you may get something. There definitely should be someone there for
autism..Kick up a bit of a fuss on the lines of "We really want to help this
child  but we need....." Be specific -e.g we need to convert a stock
cupboard into a study area etc. My school is awful for space. I have
investigated all kinds of things- e.g. converting a London bus to put in the
playground which a neighbouring school have done. (Actually we still can't
fit that in!)
