Hi Anne The latest from the exam boards is this: http://www.jcq.org.uk/attachments/published/347/Changes%20to%20Regulations%20on%20Access%20Arrangements.pdf From September 2007, teachers who assess candidates for access arrangements will no longer need JCQ approval of their specialist qualifications. However, JCQ does require that a record is kept of those teachers who will now be conducting the assessments. Therefore, centres must complete and return Form 8A (provided at Appendix B) to the address specified in the notes attached to the form. If the link doens't work, go to the JCQ website and follow the links to the Access Arrangements page. No mention of any specific course in this. Amanda Secondary SENCo Cornwall Ann Cooke <e.a.cooke at bangor.ac.uk> wrote: I saw in a recent bulletin a statement about the Joint Examination Board requirement that teachers carrying out assessments for exam arrangements should have completed a specialist course. The message seemed to suggest that after 2007 the Board would no longer insist on this. I read the message quickly and now can't find it to check, but my understanding is that the Board has not changed its policy on this. Can the writer enlighten me - and tell me where the information came from.
