Dear Linda,
So sorry to hear about your leg. Although it is indeed
possible to work from home I really think you need to
make your recovery a priority <wags finger> and not
worry about work. I realise you may go crackers with
nothing to do but, unless your employer has a specific
need and can provide you with the support to work, I
would try to make the best of things. You should only
worry when daytime TV starts to be your sole source of
conversation and you really care about the guests on
the Jeremy Kyle show.
By the way, did I miss it or did you say how you
injured yourself? My ex-husband and his mother fell
down the same stairs (several months apart) and had
near-identical foot injuries. Ex went off to a meeting
in Manchester and only really noticed the severity of
the pain the following day. His boss grudgingly drove
him back from the hospital. Having been bought some
Quality Street to cheer him up, ex chomped into a
toffee and wrenched a large filling out - apparently
this hurt more than the foot. He worked from home for
some weeks and drove me mad(der).
Ex-mother-in-law's reaction to falling down our stairs
was to wail, constantly, very loudly, until she
arrived at hospital - so about an hour and a half in
all. The urge to put her out of her misery was quite
strong.
I am confident that my decision not to go into nursing
was the correct one.
