I have of course a commercial interest in this but I have a Langauge Development programme which a couple of schools have said they use for precisely this purpose. Each exercise offers a page of voice -spported reading like the Electronic Library. After going through the page, the children are asked to locate certain key words. They are then required to identiy missing words from a given group of words and thereafter they are required to spell these words. When they have completed the exercise, a named and dated printout includes the piece they read at the computer followed by a report on how well they tackled the passage. The printout is also a worksheet and the pupils are required to put together new sentences using specified words from the passage. Hope this helps. Eddie C. |
