Dear Leonie, Welcome to the Forum. You will already have heard from one member of the Forum - I'm sure you will find it useful. In my opinion, one of the best ways of providing useful information about pupils moving from the primary to the secondary phase, is to ask the teachers in the secondary school to specify what kinds and levels of achievement they expect of pupils moving up. This is a way both of helping the primary teachers to know how to prepare pupils for the secondary phase, and of challenging the secondary school teachers to extend their capacity to be responsive to pupils' learning needs! This is the sort of advice I used to give to the education minister in Portugal about 20 years ago. My first request is to ask if anyone has an e.g. of a Yr 6- Yr 7 transfer form, which I can adapt to suit the conditions here, where statementing is not an option. Thank you in advance to anyone who might share a form with me. Léonie |
