[senco-forum] KS2/KS3 readers

This is quite an issue for us - last week 14 students qualified for readers - only six ASKED for questions to be read - so most had no benefit.  Trying to get them to understand the need/importance was a lost battle.

SEN,but maybe a bit?!

It is quite clear in the instructions for additional support. You may read 
the question to the child, in KS2 incl symbols and numbers IF they ask. You 
cannot reword the question.

Hi, just looking through the ARR book/ guidelines for KS2 SATs and it
says a reader may help in "clarifying specific text in a mathematical
question as long as no clue is given to the answer"

Does anybody know what this means you can/ cannot do? Quite desperate
as they begin tomorrow and we haven't had a visit for a few years-
can't risk doin the wrong thing.
