Article: [SENco-forum] AlphaSmarts/exam access

Hi Philippa

I've been out of the list for a while but read the archives on the webs site
so saw your question for me.

I'm afraid I can't give you a simple answer and would agree with other
people's comments that you really need to discuss it with the exam boards
directly. It seems to be a bit of a grey area. Some people seem have used
them as they are, others have used them but with Co:Writer and the spell
checker deactivated (although to paraphrase Sharon's analogy that's a bit
like giving someone a wheelchair but with the wheels taken off).

Glad the Neos with Co:Writer are working for you though.

If anyone is interested we are offering free online training on how to get
the best out of Co:Writer on the Neo, how to use Topic Dictionaries,
download new ones from the Don Johnston web site and create new ones
yourself. It's completely free all you need is a computer with Broadband
connection and speakers. If anyone wants details contact me directly.

Jamie
