Article: [senco-forum] Preschool autistic child developing bilingualism

Earlier this week, in my role of EP I had the pleasure of meeting the mother
of a little girl (aged 4) who is described as autistic. Her mum is french
(excellent english, teaches French in secondary school) and dad is an
english native-also a teacher. Parents are keen for their daughter to
develop bilingualism and it felt to me that she was probably more proficient
in french than in english. Mum believes that she is doing the right thing in
promoting her daughter's language in this way, but frequently seeks
reassurance. They live in the S Yorkshire region (Sheffield). Anyone know of
any other parents in this position in the region where I could link up this
mum? (She is happy for me to make this request on her behalf)
