Hello You'll find that we do this a lot. Someone introduces an idea and we all put in our two penn'orth. Not all of it is relevant. We're all busy people. We probably don't read senco-forum messges as carefuly as we might. We are, after all, reading them in our spare time after a long day at what I still call 'the chalk face'. I think this is more like a quick chat with knowledgeable colleagues who may or may not know the answers to my questions. Sometimes the responses are exactly what I want. More often they give me good ideas. Sometimes I just delete them after reading a few lines. Just a quick response: Did you note the word 'caution' - and realise that I was speaking about 'other considerations' when thinking about voice to text rather than it being the only solution? This would be particularly important when dyslexia might be just one of the child's difficulties where "If the speaker learns to speak accurately" may not even be a current aspiration. Did you also note that (since the original comment was about a year seven child) I stated 'particularly KS 1-3' where circumstances might just be slightly different from the year 12 studying for A levels? At the risk of being even longer I could have mentioned (among others) the year 11 pupil saved from permanent exclusion by provision of voice to text, resulted in GCSE's that he would otherwise not have obtained and a raise in self-esteem as he taught the deputy-head (overseeing his exclusions) how to use Dragon but I thought we were talking about younger children. Finally, did you also note that I gave ideas and links to possible means of evaluation of voice to text?
