Article: [senco-forum] Computer Aided Learning

We have Nessy at our primary school. The kids love it, but I have some
reservations - there are aspects in which I feel wordshark is better, as
Rik will pronbably post...
Nessy is very hi tech graphics etc, but there is less visual
reinforcement of words. Nessy has a great systematic of phonic
progression, backed up by sheets and games - but unlike wordshark you
cant "lock it down". This is a problem for us, as I set up programmes
for kids to use independently first thing in the morning. With Nessy I
have to trust them to navigate to the right games - and there is no way
of checking on them either!
I hope that some one at Nessy will provide a version that can be locked
down - I know that ideally kids should be in charge of their own
learning, but for many of mine this is a target rather than a reality!
