Dear Barbara, I use both these resources and and they are very different. I use Lexia as a programme a child can work through with a TA. It has its merits and the child loves it but it acts as a supplementary programme and I confess use it to fill a gap because this child does not do French because of his huge level of difficulty. I can rig it so that each week he works on the elements of the teaching he has had earlier in the week. Most of the other children find it quite tedious. I would never use it as a teaching programme . Nessy on the other hand, is a very valuable teaching resource. It provides worksheets, activities and games. You can follow their teaching order or pick and choose depending on what you are targeting. There are card games which print onto labels. The skill levels span a huge range so the activities will work for most students you are likely to work with however i teach yrs 2-8 so I can't speak for secondary. We recently had visiting teachers from other schools and I, well my team and I concluded that it is one resource we could not live without. Hope this helps.
